The California Outdoors Hall of Fame recognizes individuals with a profound scope of outdoor accomplishments that have impacted others and improved the lives of Californians. Personal achievement by itself, on the other hand, merits less consideration.

Membership Criteria

All candidates must fill two requirements:

1. The nominees have inspired thousands of Californians to take part in the great outdoors and/or conservation.
2. The nominees must have taken part in a paramount scope of adventures.

Anybody can nominate an entrant including entrants, who can nominate themselves. Entrees must include a 200 to 250-word biography or will be disqualified.

To be eligible to be considered to be inducted in the following year’s class, nominations should be submitted by the end of October.

Voting is conducted in late autumn by leaders in outdoors media, government and industry, and by past inductees to the COHOF, who are called the Circle of Chiefs.

Announcement of those selected to be inducted into the California Outdoors Hall of Fame is made near the beginning of the new year.

If you know of someone you think is worthy of this honor, fill out a nomination form below or by clicking here.
